Port information (France)

The Port Information product contains 13 object classes, the acronyms used are those of the IHO - International Hydrographic Organisation - standard S-57 (https://iho.int/): - Berth (BERTHS): a place where a ship can moor along a quay, pontoon, etc. - Isolated building locating a port office (BUISGL) - Control station (CHKPNT) - Crane (CRANES) - Floating dock (FLODOC): floating construction that allows ships to be lifted to dry land for careening. - Grille de carénage (GRIDRN): structure placed on the foreshore, serving as a support for grounded ships to allow work on the emerged part of their hull during low tide slack periods. - Port area (HRBARE): the administrative area of a port, including all berthing and handling facilities, as well as short-term storage facilities. - Port function (fishing, pleasure craft, etc.) (HRBFAC) - Hull of a ship which is laid up or wrecked, from which the equipment and superstructure have usually been removed and which is permanently moored in one place, or beached. - Pollution prevention boom (OILBAR) - Pilot boarding place (PILBOP) - Rescue station (RSCSTA) - Pleasure craft facility (SMCFAC) Detailed definitions for each of these object classes can be found in S-57 (https://iho.int/en/standards-and-specifications). Some of the symbols used for the display on the data.shom.fr portal have been adapted from icons in the OpenSeaMap open library (https://github.com/OpenNauticalChart/).
